2. Age Verification & Legal Requirements

All clients must be 18 years of age or older. Valid government-issued photo ID (passport, driving licence, or national ID card) is mandatory for all appointments and will be checked before any procedure.

• We will not provide tattoos to anyone under 18 under any circumstances
• Failure to provide valid ID will result in appointment cancellation
• No refund will be issued if you cannot provide proof of age
• Parental consent is not sufficient for clients under 18
• We comply fully with UK tattooing regulations regarding age verification

3. Health & Medical Screening

Your health and safety are our top priority. All clients must complete a comprehensive health screening questionnaire before their appointment.

Medical Conditions Requiring Consultation

You must inform us of any of the following before booking:

• Pregnancy (we recommend waiting until after pregnancy)
• Immunosuppressive conditions (HIV, AIDS, cancer treatment, transplant recipients)
• Blood disorders or clotting issues
• Recent vaccinations or planned vaccinations within 48 hours
• Keloid scarring history
• Severe allergies or sensitivities
• Skin conditions affecting the intended area (psoriasis, eczema, active acne)
• Recent surgery or medical procedures
• Medications affecting bleeding or immune function
• Hepatitis B, C, or other transmissible blood conditions

Conditions Preventing Tattooing

We cannot provide tattoos if you have any of the following:

• Active skin infections or transmissible diseases
• Severe immunosuppression
• Current pregnancy
• Intoxication or impaired mental state
• Recent vaccinations (within 48 hours of appointment)

We reserve the right to refuse service if we believe it would be unsafe or inadvisable. Your appointment can be rescheduled when conditions are safe.

4. Consultation & Design Process

• Initial consultations are free and non-binding
• Design development includes up to 3 major revisions
• Additional revisions beyond 3 are charged at £50 per revision
• Designs remain our intellectual property until final payment is received
• You grant Tattoos By Scott Ltd the right to photograph your finished tattoo for portfolio use
• No deposit required - appointments confirmed upon agreement

5. Pricing & Payment

General Pricing

• All prices are shown inclusive of VAT (20%)
• Prices are valid for 90 days from quote date
• Final price may vary based on actual time, complexity, and changes made during sessions
• We reserve the right to increase prices with 30 days' written notice

Payment Terms

• No deposit required to confirm appointment
• Full payment due upon completion of tattoo work
• Payment must be made before leaving the studio
• Accepted payment methods: Cash, Debit Card, Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Bank Transfer
• We operate on trust - please respect our no-deposit policy by attending confirmed appointments

Price Adjustments

• Significant design changes may incur additional charges
• Larger than quoted areas will be charged at hourly rate: £60/hour
• Additional sessions for multi-session work charged at standard rates

6. Cancellation & Rescheduling

• Cancellation 24+ hours in advance: No charge - appointment cancelled free of charge
• Cancellation less than 24 hours: £50 late cancellation fee applies
• No-show (missed appointment): £50 no-show fee charged
• Rescheduling: Free rescheduling if arranged 24+ hours in advance
• If the studio cancels, automatic rescheduling at your convenience or refund if work was started
• Appointments can be transferred to another person with 24+ hours notice

7. Conduct & Expectations

To ensure a safe, professional environment for all clients and staff:

• Clients must be respectful and courteous at all times
• Intoxication or drug use is not permitted
• You must sit still and follow the artist's instructions
• Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to allow for setup
• Bring a support person if needed (limited to 1 person for large pieces)
• We reserve the right to stop a session if you are uncooperative, intoxicated, or disruptive
• Refunds will not be issued for sessions stopped due to client misconduct

8. Tattoo Aftercare & Responsibility

Proper aftercare is essential for optimal healing and final appearance. We provide detailed aftercare instructions for all tattoos.

Your Responsibilities

• Follow all provided aftercare instructions exactly
• Keep the tattoo clean and moisturized during healing (typically 2-4 weeks)
• Avoid swimming, baths, saunas, and hot tubs during healing
• Avoid direct sunlight and UV exposure (wear SPF 50+ for 4 weeks)
• Do not pick, scratch, or peel the tattoo
• Avoid strenuous exercise for 7 days
• Wear clean, loose clothing over the tattoo
• Use only recommended aftercare products

Healing Complications

While we follow strict hygiene protocols, some healing complications can occur due to client aftercare failure or individual physiology:

• Infection: Follow our instructions; if infection occurs, seek medical advice immediately
• Allergic reactions: Inform us of any allergies during consultation
• Excessive scarring or keloid formation: May require professional medical treatment
• Color fading: Normal; touch-ups available within 6 months
• Incomplete healing: Minor touch-ups available within 6 months at no additional charge

We are not responsible for complications resulting from improper aftercare or non-compliance with instructions.

9. Touch-Up & Maintenance Policy

• Free touch-ups: Minor touch-ups are free within 6 months of the original tattoo
• After 6 months: Touch-ups charged at £100 + materials
• Fading over time: All tattoos fade; full color refreshes available at current rates
• Cover-ups: Available; additional consultation required; may cost more than original
• Touch-ups require at least 48 hours' notice for scheduling

10. Health & Safety Standards

Tattoos By Scott Ltd maintains the highest health and safety standards:

• Studio compliant with all UK health and safety regulations
• All equipment sterilized using medical-grade autoclave (140°C, 15+ minutes minimum)
• Single-use, sterile needles and equipment for every client
• Sharps and bio-waste disposed of according to UK regulations
• Studio deep-cleaned weekly; work areas sanitized between each client
• All staff trained in cross-infection control
• Health & Safety policies available on request
• Insurance: £1,000,000 public liability cover minimum

By booking an appointment and receiving a tattoo, you acknowledge and accept:

• Tattoos are permanent and involve inherent medical risks
• You have been informed of potential complications including infection, scarring, allergic reaction
• You assume all risks and responsibility for complications
• You have received and understood aftercare instructions
• You will follow aftercare instructions exactly
• You have disclosed all relevant medical conditions
• You are of sound mind and not under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• You have provided valid identification proving you are 18 years or older

13. Data Protection & Privacy

All client information is handled in accordance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

• We collect minimal personal data required for service provision
• Your data is stored securely and never shared without consent
• Photos of completed tattoos may be used for portfolio purposes unless you opt out
• You have the right to request, access, or delete your personal data

14. Intellectual Property

• Custom design artwork created by our artist remains our intellectual property until final payment
• Once fully paid, you own the tattoo on your body and can photograph and share it freely
• We retain the right to photograph and use images in our portfolio for marketing and promotion
• You may request that we do not use photos for promotional purposes
• Using our designs elsewhere or copying our designs without permission is prohibited

15. Complaints & Dispute Resolution

Complaints Procedure

• All complaints should be made in writing to scott@tattoosbyscott.co.uk within 30 days of service
• Include details of the issue, date of service, and photos if relevant
• We will respond within 10 working days
• If unresolved, escalate to management within 14 days

Dispute Resolution

• We aim to resolve all disputes fairly and professionally
• If informal resolution fails, disputes may be referred to small claims court or other appropriate legal channels
• These Terms & Conditions are governed by English law
• Any disputes will be resolved in English courts

16. Changes to Terms & Conditions

• We may update these Terms & Conditions at any time
• Significant changes will be communicated to clients via email or website notification
• Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of updated terms
• Previous terms remain valid for appointments already booked

17. Severability

If any part of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that part will be removed and the remaining terms will continue in full effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms & Conditions, along with our Privacy Policy and Pricing Information, constitute the entire agreement between you and Tattoos By Scott Ltd regarding our services. No other representations, warranties, or understandings apply.
